World of Typography!

Sometimes we get a little hung up by what is around the corner, what’s easy, what’s in front of our faces. So I won’t mention Village or, Hoefler (woops! just did). I’m sure you all know Underware (from the Netherlands) and maybe Font Smith in London. But, what about Dino dos Santos? Dino shows off what Portugal has to offer here. Dunno where textaxis come from, but must be somewhere where Spanish reins supreme. Gotta love the Belgiums, too! Our Type offers some of the fines faces I’ve seen in a while, all whilst eating frites. The Czechs are studying day and night and Suitcase shows that it’s worth it … check out Corpulant in particular, I’m sure you’ll be seeing that very soon. Sweeden = Typisc. No need to say more. And what about the other hemi? Brush up on your typographic smarts with I Love Typography which is broadcast from Japan and stop by NZ and say high to Kilm. Oh, and on your way back, stop by Process, of course.

Content Is King, or, When Photographers Blog

Static websites are dead. Databases are the new black. Check out how the photog kids interpret blogs.

Heidi Slimane runs a pretty nice one with a heavy fashion bent (props to It’s Nice That for pointing it out). Within the same vein we find the wonderful Jolijn Snijders, aka I Love Fake. And, I Heart Photograph is a great aggregator of all things photography. An oldie, but a goody is Exactitutes which is more of a photography, styling, meets art, project.

There is a new website on the internet. Here’s what it has to say for itself:

“We are a new print site based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. We love art. We’ve put together an amazing collection of artists. Some you know and some you may be seeing for the first time. Our goal with the site is to create a platform for artists that have not really had a chance to release their work as prints to a wider audience. We strive to bring great limited-edition prints and originals to you, anywhere and at anytime. We are here for the artist and the collector, to push the medium forward and to support the collective passion of printing and fresh, new art.”
